Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission - Solar India

JNNSM is India's ambitious program to generate 20,000 MW solar power by year 2022. The details can be found here.

The highlights of this initiative by the government are:

  1. Solar India would be a three phase program.
  2. Phase-1 target would be to ramp up capacity of grid-connected solar power generation to 1000 MW by 2013
  3. Phase-2 target would be 10,000 MW installed power by 2017
  4. Phase-3 target would be 20,000 MW installed power by 2022
  5. Targets in terms of solar thermal collector area would be to achieve 15 million sq. meters solar thermal collector area by 2017 and 20 million by 2022
  6. Other important target would be to create favourable conditions for solar manufacturing capability, particularly solar thermal for indigenous production and market leadership

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Guidelines

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, New Delhi, extends loan on soft terms through designated intermediaries for financing of installation of solar thermal devices. The details can found here.
